Treasurer

Julius Spijker

As a Treasurer, your prime responsibility lies with making financial decisions and carefully administrating all payments. Amongst others, ensuring financial health of the association through accurately constructing budgets, both specific and general, as well as monitoring all in- and outflows of cash carefully are a part of your day-to-day work. The opportunity to decide where to allocate money gives the Treasurer a lot of freedom and the opportunity to have a significant impact on the association. With this opportunity, of course, comes great responsibilty.

A strong financial backbone and division of assets that is in line with the long term goals of the association and its board are crucial for a thriving community. Justifying your decisions, minor or major, against the Audit committee, your board, the members at the GAM, and not to forget yourself, is essential for preserving integrity and trust in this powerful position.

Part of monitoring the financial state of the association is spending time doing accounting work. Through the year, you will gather in-depth knowlegde on the financial structure of the association and a company in general by registering all transactions and other undertakings influencing your stock or cash in Exact.

Finally, the Treasurer is released from his screens and figures during committee meetings. This year, I had the honour to supervise the City Trip, Alumni, Women In Business Days, Editorial and Gala committees. A truly great opportunity to meet and work alongside excited and motivated members, willing to contribute to B&R Beurs. Besides the intense cooperation you take on with your fellow board members, working in such diverse teams, all with different goals, ideas and ambitions, is very inspiring and adds major value to the vast set of experiences you encounter during a Board year.

I am very happy to tell you more about what I do, so do not hesitate to reach out to me if you are interested in having a chat! Find my contact info above or say hi at one of our events.

Kind regards.
