NIBC Bank is looking for an intern in our Modeling & Data Analytics team!
Why would you want to work for NIBC’s Modeling & Data Analytics (MDA)?
MDA recently launched a model development environment named Advanced Analytics. The aim of this environment is to give developers the freedom they need to develop models, web applications and APIs that could be used by colleagues throughout the bank. During this internship you will be working at the forefront of innovation within NIBC. Your aim will be to help us develop a web application for our portfolio management team. The application will be used by portfolio managers to track and forecast the capital requirements of NIBC’s corporate portfolio. Depending on your skillset, towards the end of this internship you will have reinforced your programming skills, deployed an API in NIBC’s internal network, implemented statistical models to forecast changes in NIBC’s corporate portfolio and developed a graphical user interface using NIBC’s frontend framework.
MDA provides an open, positive and challenging environment via a broad range of activities and projects. The team has a leading role in the ongoing bank-wide transformational change programs. Within our diverse team, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by playing a lead role in the development of our advanced analytics tools. You will have the opportunity to broaden your programming and model development skills as well as closely collaborate with our Portfolio Management and IT teams.
What should you like and what will you do?
Develop statistical models that enable forward looking analysis of NIBC’s corporate portfolio.
Translating functional requirements into effective end-to-end solutions
Deploying APIs in NIBC’s internal network
Developing GUIs that satisfy the needs of your stakeholders
Ongoing liaison with Portfolio Management, Finance and IT
Who are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter and is comfortable working at the intersection between computer science, statistics and financial modeling
Matlab and/or Python programming skills with some knowledge of Object-Oriented programming
Good communication skills (English)
A positive ‘can do’ mentality; no-nonsense approach/ getting things done efficiently/ making complex things easy to understand
Enrollment in a Bachelor of Master's degree in a relevant field of study
