Summary: 

NIBC Corporate Banking Portfolio Management is looking for a new team member at the early years of her/his career. Our team is instrumental to NIBC’s strategy to have pro-active portfolio management in place and to steer the Corporate Banking portfolio towards a more data-driven decision model. We closely cooperate with all Corporate Banking asset classes, such as Digital Infrastructure, Commercial Real Estate and Shipping. By working closely with Corporate Banking Portfolio Management team members with different backgrounds and levels of experience, you will obtain a thorough understanding of financial markets, corporate banking, lending processes, core asset classes within NIBC, portfolio management and NIBC as a whole. Being part of the core team in a relatively small bank will give you substantial responsibilities, direct exposure to senior management and enable you to rapidly understand how the whole bank works and where you can best leverage your talents. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Corporate Banking strategic goals, ensuring efficient portfolio steering, creating new business analytics tools and personally presenting outcomes to senior management (members of Executive Committee).

Job Description:

As a Portfolio Management team member you will support us in our efforts towards a higher level of portfolio optimization and portfolio steering, enabling Corporate Banking to focus on growth initiatives and servicing our corporate clients more effectively. This includes performing portfolio analytics, portfolio monitoring and developing and maintaining Smart Business solutions (e.g. Power BI dashboards). Furthermore, you will help to prepare presentations to senior management and participate in NIBC workshops, knowledge sessions and initiatives. This role provides you with an ample opportunity to demonstrate and develop your analytical and commercial skillset, your ability to think outside the box and be creative and your talent for organizing and structuring multiple tasks and responsibilities.

What will you do?

  • Actively contributing to creating inventive solutions for the Portfolio Management team in an open and professional team environment;

  • Portfolio monitoring incl. reporting and data quality improvements;

  • Performing portfolio forecasting and specific analyses;

  • Developing new business analytics tools and maintaining portfolio management dashboards (Power BI, Salesforce);

  • Presenting the outcomes of portfolio analytics to senior management and stakeholders;

  • In collaboration with other departments (Finance, Risk) ensure regulatory compliance; representing the Corporate Banking Portfolio Management team and providing required input;

  • Take part in a new and growing initiatives within NIBC.

Who are we looking for?

  • A quantitative Master’s degree – preferably but not necessarily – in Econometrics, Finance, (Computer) sciences;

  • Between 0 and 2 years of working experience;

  • Solid social and communication skills;

  • Interest in Corporate Banking, Business Analytics and Business Intelligence;

  • Knowledge and experience with Excel VBA, Power BI. Programming skills (Python) is a plus;

  • Fluent in English (corporate language is English), where Dutch language is a benefit.
