Speaker Profile: Vito Turitto & Dick van Antwerpen

Vito Turitto is a quantitative strategist and researcher with over 15 years of experience within energy, commodity and shipping markets specializing in volatility modelling/forecasting, options analytics, price forecasting and quantamental analytics. He has worked as derivatives trader, options trader and for one of the largest market data and price assessment agencies in the world. Vito is a python enthusiast and has made extensive use of python modules like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, statsmodels, SciPy, Plotly, Matplotlib and Keras. Vito has extensively used also external technologies like TensorFlow, SQL and PySpark to build machine and deep learning models as well as database queries. Vito Turitto is passionate about extracting meaningful insights and enjoys building models to forecast and quantify risk in commodities (both derivatives and physical) and shipping markets. Vito produced several quantitative researches on commodity volatility and commodity portfolio management, some of which have been published on prestigious academic journals like the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities’ Global Commodities Applied Research Digest (GCARD). Vito Turitto is also a recurring keynote speaker at numerous commodities conferences, has presented his quantitative researches globally and he is invited as a guest to business and finance TV channels such as ClassCNBC, LeFonti.TV and has also been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal (Oil Market’s Wild Swings Subdued by Options Trading).

Dick Van Antwerpen is Head of Risk and Quant at Cefetra Group, where he has spent over 12 years building sophisticated quantitative models and risk frameworks for global grain and oilseeds trading. He previously served as Head of Quant and Sr. Commodity Market Analyst, developing supply and demand models, econometric forecasts, and market analysis across major commodity-producing countries. Dick combines quantitative expertise with practical agricultural knowledge from being involved in managing his family's agricultural business investment decision. He founded Divantin, a financial research firm, and contributed research to Willem Middelkoop's internationally published books on commodities and economics. Dick is an Erasmus University Rotterdam alumni with an MSc in Financial Economics and BSc Business & Economics.
