As Secretary, you are the primary point of contact for members, maintain close relations with the investment groups, and oversee the society’s administration. You play a central role in keeping the organisation running smoothly and connected.
During the introduction period, this position becomes especially dynamic, as you handle the majority of new member registrations and help students join existing investment groups or set up new ones. This makes it one of the busiest periods of the board year.
Throughout the year, you stay in close contact with members and group chairmen via mailings, apps, and other communication channels. You are often the first person members approach with questions or concerns about their wellbeing, which means working closely with other board members to find appropriate solutions. You also support fellow board members by providing data and helping communicate information to the wider membership, giving you a clear overview of everything happening within the society.
In addition, as a board member you supervise committees and represent B&R Beurs at events and external occasions. Because many questions come to you first, you quickly gain insight into all aspects of the board’s work and also learn a great deal from collaborating with your fellow board members.
