Vortex Capital Partners is a leading specialist investment fund with a focus on Benelux-headquartered small and medium-sized technology companies with high growth potential. Vortex invests in software, internet, and tech-enabled growth-stage companies that use technology to differentiate and scale. Our team combines years of M&A experience with deep technical expertise and first-hand operational experience to support ambitious entrepreneurs and management teams as an active partner in realizing their growth ambitions. Vortex is currently investing its €75 million buyout fund closed in 2021 (succeeding our €35 million 2017 fund) and. Vortex has made 23 platform investments, 30+ add-on investments, and realized 6 successful exits since its foundation in 2012. The Vortex team, consisting of 11 professionals with diverse financial and operational backgrounds – further expanding in 2023 – currently manages 17 portfolio companies. By virtue of our steady growth, we are constantly looking for ambitious interns to support our Amsterdam-based investment team.

What you will do during your Vortex internship

As an investment intern, you will be fully integrated into our investment team and get involved in all
aspects of the transaction process. Your involvement ranges from generating deal flow, performing
market research and business analysis, and providing general team support. Amongst others, this
involves the following activities:
▪ Becoming part of deal teams working together with 2-3 Vortex team members on live transactions
▪ Analysis and explanation of business information and preparation of financial models (balance
sheets, P&Ls, cash flow statements, and leveraged buyout models)
▪ Identifying and analyzing potentially interesting investment propositions for Vortex
▪ Preparation of investment proposals and other presentations to be presented internally and
externally
▪ Supporting Vortex portfolio companies with relevant analyses
▪ Performing quantitative and qualitative market research
▪ Supporting the team in the day-to-day activities

What you bring as an intern

▪ You have a strong affinity with technology and tech-enabled businesses
▪ You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on mentality
▪ You combine strong analytical, social, and communication skills
▪ You are capable of processing and analyzing information effectively and independently
▪ You are fluent in Dutch and English
▪ You have completed one or more relevant previous internships (e.g. M&A, private equity, venture
capital or consultancy)
▪ You have completed a quantitative university bachelor’s degree (e.g. economics, econometrics,
business administration, finance, computer science or other beta degrees)

▪ You are available full-time for 3 to 4 consecutive months (flexible starting date, extended internship beyond 4 months in consultation)

offers a highly diverse internship position with great opportunities to learn the basics of private equity
and technology investing during a 3 or 4-month period.
