We are seeking a motivated Commercial Sustainability Intern to join our dynamic team, where you'll gain hands-on experience in sustainability within the petrochemical industry. Working closely with the Sustainability Commercial Team, you'll contribute to key projects and gain valuable insights into legislative trends, sustainability strategies, market research, and commercial practices, particularly in alternative feedstocks like Pyrolysis Oil, Circular Naphtha, Circular Benzene, and Circular Styrene.

Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Commercial Sustainability Intern to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in sustainability within the petrochemical industry. As an intern, you will work closely with the Sustainability Commercial Team and play a crucial role in several key projects aimed at enhancing our sustainability initiatives. You will gain valuable insight into legislative trends, sustainability strategies, market research, and commercial practices.
The Sustainability Commercial Team leads COUNT's portfolio of alternative feedstocks, including commodities like Pyrolysis Oil, Circular Naphtha, Circular Benzene and Circular Styrene.
Projects you Will Work On
- Legislation Analysis: Study existing and upcoming legislation affecting COUNT operations and analyze the effect on circular commodities.
- Plastic Credit & Paper Commodities Research: Investigate the potential role of plastic credits in supporting the Plastic Supply Chain in the transition to Circularity.
- Market Updates: Gain a state-of-the-art knowledge of the market by participating in industry events and webinars and analyzing news and social media posts.
- Business Development: Deepen understanding of the key players in transition to sustainability in the petrochemical industry to identify potential partners.
- Capacity Building: Develop communicational skills by organizing commercial training sessions focused on sustainability topics.
- CO2 Footprint Development: Assist in the development of our CO2 desk by gathering and analyzing data related to the carbon footprint of our business activities.

Requirements
Educational Background: Currently pursuing (preferred) or recently completed a degree in Business, economics, econometrics, communication with sustainability orientation.
Skills:
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interest in sustainability.
Additional Qualifications:
- Prior experience or coursework related to sustainability, environmental legislation, or the petrochemical industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting and CO2 tracking is an advantage.
Administrative requirements:
- Applicants must be eligible to work legally in the Netherlands for a full-time (40 hours a week) internship -Internationals on student visas are welcome.
- Available to work in person and commute to the Rotterdam office.
- Being enrolled in a related educational program for the full duration of the internship is a strong plus.
